The Rural Action Centre Montague, in partnership with Workplace Learning PEI and the Eastern PEI Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a 3-part series of Workforce Development Sessions.
These sessions are beneficial to the development of transferrable skills for both employers and employees alike!
- “Stress Management” – September 12th : Workplace stress is the leading cause for turnover in the workforce. Many attribute poor performance, absenteeism, or lateness to being “stressed out” at work. It is felt that whether the stress is related to the workplace or one’s personal lives, it has an impact on performance. This session helps participants deal with their stress without it impacing on their performance at work or coworkers. It also looks to identify personal stressors, implement strategies to help deal with stress, and effectively deal with stress.
- “Staying Motivated” – September 19th: The desire to set and achieve high standards on the job. The desire to be an excellent employee/r; showing a willingness to put forth the effort to excel. This can include striving for specific goals, showing initiative and self-direction without supervision. This session should help participants be able to define what it means to be motivated and apply those skills to the workplace.
- “Solving Workplace Problems” – September 26th: Employers like to hire individuals with strong problem-solving skills because that shows that an individual has the ability to handle difficult or unexpected situations in the workplace. In this session, participants will learn how to identify problems, use information and evidence to help solve problems, learn about decision making skills, and learn how to evaluate a solution to see if it was effective or not.
Sessions are FREE to join and will be held from 9AM to 12PM each day at the Rural Action Centre 540 Main Street Montague.
