Free Cybersecurity Webinar – January 21

Rural Action Centres are pleased to present a free webinar to help you learn how to protect your business, organization or community group from cyber threats.  Cyber724 – a division of Starport Managed Services, will deliver an interactive online session via Zoom on Thursday, January 21st from 12 to 1 p.m. The webinar will cover how to identify and respond to a security breach, and best practices for your company – to protect users and your data. Employers: Canada Summer Jobs Applications Deadline Jan 29th

Hiring a summer student can help your business or community group and provide excellent job experience to young people in the community. Employers in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors are eligible for this Service Canada program that offers 75% wage subsidies. Job placements can take place between April 26, 2021 and February 26, 2022.  For more information and to apply check HERE.

Community Halls: Up to $2500 in COVID-19 Operational Support

Community halls owned or operated by a registered non-profit community group that have seen revenues impacted by COVID-19 may be eligible for up to $2500 to help cover operational costs. Access the online application HERE. Contact your local Rural Action Centre to speak to a Community Development Officer about this program.

Local Festivals: Building Communities through Arts and Heritage

The Building Communities through Arts and Heritage program helps you celebrate your community, its past and present. The Program increases opportunities for local artists, artisans, heritage performers or specialists and First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultural carriers to commemorate their local history and heritage. Application deadline for festivals in summer 2021 is January 31st. Check HERE for more details and to apply.
