Abram-Village Handcraft Co-op

The Abram-Village Handcraft Co-op was established more than half a century ago to sell handicrafts made by artisans in the Evangeline region. Get a sneak peek inside the retail location in this brief video.
The Cooperative sells only handcrafted items made in Prince Edward Island – and most of them are made in the Evangeline region, including items made in the colours of the Acadian flag.

Today, the Cooperative has about sixty active members who use both modern and traditional methods learned from their parents or grandparents to create quilts, woodworking, embroidery, crocheted rugs, knitted products, weaving, paintings, pottery and more.
The Rural Action Centre in Wellington has been an important information source and support for the Abram-Village Handcraft Co-Op.
Alvina Bernard, President of the Co-op credits the Rural Action Centre with helping them hire a summer student in the past.
“Having a Rural Action Centre in our rural communities gives our small businesses and nonprofits confidence that we can succeed.”
