TCAP Family Aquatics and Fitness Center services the diverse population of Three Rivers.
Read General Manager, Steph Aitken’s account of how the Rural Action Centre in Montague has helped support this Non-Profit Organization and important community asset.

“We contacted the Rural Action Centre to aid in the revitalization of a community center that we believed would be a shame to lose. When our (volunteer) board of directors took over in late 2016 they had a lot of work ahead of them. The facility was in poor condition, there was a hefty mortgage, and hardly enough funds to pay the current bills or staff let alone take on projects that would bring life back into the place.
The Rural Action Centre (RAC) has been a great support for TCAP, with a heartfelt thank you especially going to Sonia Dixon, Community Development Officer. Sonia is part of the team at Rural and Regional Development, a division of the PEI Department of Fisheries, Tourism, Sport & Culture. Not only has she helped with various grants, but she has also offered advice, and gone out of the way to reach out to us with anything she thought could benefit TCAP.

The Rural Action Centre has proven time and time again that they share our belief: TCAP is a vital part of our community.
Our users are young, elderly, and everywhere in between. We also see people of varying abilities and are pleased to be equipped with accessible doors and washrooms. We offer a wide variety of services including a 25 Meter swimming pool, sauna, hot tub, fully equipped weight room, cardio room, and fitness class studio.
We offer swimming lessons, master’s swimming, a variety of pool and land-based fitness classes, as well as school-aged childcare services and office rental spaces. Our pool and fitness class schedules are updated monthly and are accessible on our Facebook page.
Our facility would be a much different place without the help of the Montague Rural Action Centre. It is only through their help that we’ve been able to accomplish some of the major projects we’ve undertaken over the years.”
“ The best part of having a RAC in our region is that you see the growth in the community because of their help. Go onto the Rural Action Centre homepage and you’re bound to see a face you know in the Client Success Stories. It really is about communities helping community members. ”
