Artisans Waterfront Market
Artisans Waterfront Market (incorporated “Artisans on Main Inc.” 2012)
We are a nonprofit, volunteer-run cooperative of 45 members, dedicated to showcasing and selling the fine arts and crafts created by our talented community.Recently, we reached out to the Rural Action Centre for guidace on acquiring funding to update our business name and logo, to create promotional materials, and to add signage to help people find our location.

The staff at the Rural Action Centre in Montague made us aware of various grant opportunities and what the deadlines were for applying. They walked us through the application process and provided any assistance we required. In addition, they introduced us to training programs available for small businesses and connected us with the Island East Tourism Group.
As an all-volunteer organization with a regularly changing Board, it’s invaluable to have the support of an organization that understands our needs, recognizes how our growth benefits the community, and keeps us informed about available opportunities.
One of our summer student employees was able to get some training in website development. Our renewed connection to Island East Tourism has expanded our visibility and improved connections with other businesses in the area. The Rural Action Centre also provides space, free of charge, to host our Board meetings.
Our operation would not exist today if not for the Rural Action Centre and particularly former Executive Director of CBDC Eastern PEI, Martina MacDonald, and her drive to fill empty storefronts by bringing Art and Artisans to the community.
We outgrew our original location and are now located in the freight shed on the Montague waterfront, adjacent to the marina and beside the Tourist Information Center. The continued support of the community, along with the resources made available through the Rural Action Centre, has helped sustain us over the years.

“Our reputation has grown, and we have become a destination of choice for Islanders and visitors alike. Our presence brings energy and vitality to the waterfront and adds to the spirit of the Town of Three Rivers.”
