Claudette Gallant – Centre Goéland

Claudette Gallant, Centre Goéland Board Chair

The Centre Goéland in Cap Egmont is a not-for-profit organization with a dual mandate.

The primary mandate is to deliver the Village des Sources l’Étoile filante’s wellness programming to the Francophone and Acadian youth of Prince Edward Island.

The beautiful modern lodge nestled in a secluded, idyllic setting only steps away from the Northumberland Strait hosts personal development camps for students enrolled in French-language schools.

The Centre Goéland’s secondary mandate is to operate as a rental facility. The Centre is an ideal location for wellness retreats, weddings, professional development seminars, artisan workshops, and team-building events.

Centre Goéland Board Chair, Claudette Gallant, says the not-for-profit works closely with the Rural Action Centre in Wellington, particularly with Giselle Bernard, Community Development Officer, with the Department of Fisheries, Tourism, Sport and Culture.

“We are a charitable organization with limited revenue streams. We reached out to the Rural Action Centre to learn more about available programs and resources that could help us continue to fulfill our mission while ensuring the growth of our organization and programs.

The funding and contacts we have made have been crucial to our stability and growth. Giselle is knowledgeable, professional and familiar with our mandate. It’s especially important for us to be able to access this service in French.”
