Basic Photography Courses for Companies and Amateur Photographers

Businesses and organizations wanting to learn how to take better photos for their social media, and amateur photographers wanting to improve their general skills, are invited to register for one or two of the courses to be offered by Ottawa-based professional photographer Rémi Thériault on April 16 at Wellington’s Centre d’action rural (CAR).

The first workshop, on photography with cell phones, will take the form of a lunch and learn (with light lunch) from 12 to 1 pm. “It’s no secret that social media is becoming an increasingly important part of our lives; the same is true for our businesses. Often, social media becomes more important than a website. Come and join us for a lunch-and-learn session to learn how to better manage your social media account and, above all, how to pose beautiful photos to attract the attention of all your followers,” says Mr. Thériault. The registration fee for this workshop is $20, tax included. Of course, participants are asked to bring their cell phones (which must be equipped with a camera).

The second workshop, running from 6 to 9 p.m., is aimed at amateur photographers who want to progress to the next level. “In this session, we’ll look at the basics of photography, then explore tips for producing great photos and how to simplify everything. You don’t need the best camera or lighting to produce great photos; what’s important is knowing your space. Knowing how to take a good photo is knowing how to tell a good story,” explains the photographer. The registration fee for this three-hour course is $50, tax included. Bring your camera, as there will be practical exercises.

To register for these workshops, please contact Josée Arsenault at [email protected] or 902-854-3439 no later than April 12.
