Grace Blackette – Three Rivers 50+ Seniors Group

Grace Blackette is a mover and a shaker in her community. She’s the president of the Three Rivers 50+ Seniors Group.

When she recognized that members of her group – about 50 people residing in the Three Rivers area – needed a bit of help to fully participate in the life of the community, especially in volunteer roles, she turned to the Rural Action Centre (RAC) in Montague for support. “We requested help to learn to use computers and phones. The Client Information Officer, Emma Gamble, happened to have the knowledge and skills needed to provide us with some group training. She provided excellent service to help us gain these skills and a basic introduction to what we needed to learn to navigate our devices. This help has enabled members to fully utilize their personal computers and phones for volunteer work. The value of the Rural Action Centre in our community is second to none and very much appreciated”
