Happy Holidays – Support Local

December 5, 2021

Holiday Holidays – Support Local

We encourage you to buy local when shopping for gifts this Holiday Season. You will be supporting your neighbours and the local business community. What better way to spread the Holiday Spirit?

COVID Special Leave Fund

The COVID Special Leave Fund provides up to three days of wage supports for workers and self-employed people who can’t work due to illness; are required to self-isolate; need time to get tested; have children under the age of 12 or family members in need of supervised care; and do not have access to paid sick leave or the ability to work from home. CHECK HERE for more details and how to apply.

Wage Support for Potato Exporters

This program will provide wage reimbursement to potato exporters and trucking companies that maintain their staff during the U.S. border closure. For more information, please check HERE.

Steps to Success – Training for Early Childhood Educators

Thinking about a career working with children? The Steps for Success training program could help make your plans a reality. The program provides six months of combined classroom training and workplace experience to become a Level One Early Childhood Educator. To apply, please contact Megan Drummond at 902-368-1866 or projects@ecdapei.ca.

What are our clients saying?

“They help you clarify your needs and help with all the resources you need to get started in business.”

– Stella Daly, owner Stella’s Foodtruck in Montague.

“Rural Action Centre is a great asset for small businesses, non-profits, community organizations and private citizens in the region”.

– Kevin Porter, Executive Director, Community Inclusions in West Prince.

“You feel comfortable to speak in your own language…that’s a really good thing – the fact that we’re able to speak French. At the Rural Action Centre, it’s smaller, it’s accessible, you’re able to meet one-on-one.”

– Sylvain Gagné, owner of Gagné Blueberries in West St. Peter’s, and Wellington Rural Action Centre client.
