MacAusland’s Woolen Mills

At MacAusland’s Woolen Mills, we take pride in being one of Canada’s few vertically integrated mills, producing 100% wool yarn and blankets right on site. When I stepped into managing the mill, the Rural Action Centre (RAC) was instrumental in helping me prepare for the transition. They offered great guidance and direction as various business or tax legislations changed, making adapting easier to manage. 

I’ve continued to rely on RAC for HR planning and training workshops. Their one-on-one support helped us design effective training plans and update workplace safety materials, bringing our operations into the 21st century. The newsletters and workshop notifications are a great resource, keeping me informed and motivated to keep learning. 

The RAC team, including Client Information Officer Barb MacDonald, has been pivotal in creating space for local businesses to thrive. Their commitment to connecting entrepreneurs with resources and opportunities makes adapting to today’s challenges so much easier. Thanks to their support, we’ve been able to strengthen our business and continue serving customers across Canada and beyond.
