Matt Kemp, Coastal Drive Indoor Simulators, Montague, PEI
Matt Kemp is an avid golfer. He was spending a lot of time on the road driving to a golf simulator in Charlottetown to practice his golf swing, and realized there were probably others from his area doing the same thing. Matt recognized an opportunity to provide an important service to golfers in eastern PEI and to become his own boss! He took the leap into business ownership and Coastal Drive Indoor Simulators opened its doors in Montague in July 2022.
The Rural Action Centre in Montague has been an important resource and supporter in Matt’s small business journey. He has accessed financing through CBDC Eastern PEI and has tapped into Innovation PEI funding programs, such as the Small Business Investment Grant. Client Information Officer Emma Gamble keeps him informed of training opportunities offered by the Rural Action Centres. She’s also drawn on her own skills to provide Matt with social media tips.
Coastal Drive Indoor Simulators is a fully licensed recreation and entertainment facility. The two large golf simulator bays provide ample opportunity for golfers to book practice sessions when they can’t get out to an outdoor course.
As a new business owner, Matt says the Rural Action Centre is helping his business succeed.
