Paid Sick Leave & Minimum Wage Increases

Minimum wage increases twice in 2024: on April 1st to $15.40/hour and in October to $16.00/hour. Also beginning in October, employees will be entitled to up to three PAID sick days depending on the duration of employment with the same employer. Workers rights and employers’ responsibilities are covered in PEI by the Employment Standards Act. To learn more, attend an information session on the Employment Standards in Alberton or Montague.
