Innovation PEI – More funding for businesses

Innovation PEI is temporarily increasing funding to eight programs to support PEI businesses impacted by COVID-19. The programs focus on business investment in planning, capital investments, marketing and promotion activities. Find details here. For more information and to apply, contact an Innovation PEI Business Development Officer via your local Rural Action Centre. The increased funding is available through to March 31, 2021.

Regional Relief & Recovery Fund extended

The federal government has extended this funding program delivered by the CBDCs until March 31, 2021. The fund is meant to help businesses impacted by COVID-19 that do not qualify for other federal programming. The maximum loan is $40,000 with 25% – up to $10,000 – forgivable if it is repaid by December 31, 2022. Find additional details here.  Contact your local Rural Action Centre to connect with the CBDC in your region.

Climate Challenge Fund open for applications

The Climate Challenge Fund will provide up to $100,000 to support projects that either reduce greenhouse gas emissions or help communities and the economy adapt to a changing climate.

Businesses, municipalities, nonprofits and other groups are eligible. Applications submitted by November 30, 2020 will be considered in the first round of approvals for 2020-21 funding, but applications can be submitted anytime on an ongoing basis. Find details and the online applications here.
