Small Business Week
October 18 – 22nd
Small Business Week is an opportunity to celebrate our local businesses, entrepreneurs, and the many organizations that support our local economy. Be sure to attend one of the activities RACs will be hosting next week – and keep an eye out for Rural Action Centre Staff and Partners who will be dropping by local businesses to promote our services and resources.

PEI Vax Pass FAQ’s
Under the PEI Vax Pass Program some businesses, services and events are required to verify a person’s proof of vaccination for access to their venue or setting. Please note that Rural Action Centres do not require proof of vaccination to enter the building for an individual appointment; however, proof of vaccination and one piece of ID are required to attend workshops hosted at our centres. If you have questions about the PEI Vax Pass, we invite you to read the PEI Vax Pass Program FAQs for Businesses, Services and Events.
Rural Public Transit Options Now Available

Effective October 12th beginning with multiple routes serving Summerside east, local and intercommunity transportation services will link workers to jobs, students to schools, shoppers to stores and Islanders to essential services to enhance their quality of life. The Province is helping cover the costs with all fares at $2 per person per one-way trip. Western PEI routes are expected to come onstream in early 2022. For details on schedules and routes please visit: Island-wide Public Transit.
Client Success Stories: Nathan Irving
Nathan Irving, owner and operator of Captain Nate’s Murray Islands Adventures, says his thriving business in Eastern PEI would not have been possible without the support and guidance from the Rural Action Centre in Montague.
“Everybody at RAC wants you to succeed, and they’ll do everything in their power to help you out. I can’t say enough great things about them,” said Nathan. “The whole process was very easy, and they made you feel very comfortable. I never felt like I was being talked down to,” says Irving.
Contact the Client Information Officer in your local centre if we can be of assistance.
