Supporting Indigenous Art & Artists
June 21 – National Indigenous People’s Day
National Indigenous People’s Day on June 21 is part of the Celebrate Canada program, which includes Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day June 24, Canadian Multiculturalism Day June 27 and Canada Day July 1. Mi’kmaw professional artists and crafts persons can apply annually to have their art considered for acquisition to the Art Bank. Find details about how and when to apply HERE. In addition, Indigenous artists can apply annually to the Indigenous Arts Grants program.
