PEI Tariff Response: Support for Businesses 

New programs support businesses impacted by tariffs on exported goods destined for the US.

The Export Enhancement and Diversification Fund provides increased funding for marketing and trade show activities. Contact an Innovation PEI Business Development Officer at your local Rural Action Centre to start the process. Click here to learn more and apply.

The Tariff Working Capital Assistance Program provides loans to help PEI businesses exporting to the US maintain operations, save jobs, and invest in alternative supply chain strategies. Click here to learn more.

Small Business Investment Grant

Don’t miss this opportunity – deadline March 31, 2025
There is still time to submit applications for 15% rebate on eligible capital expenses. Start by contacting an Innovation PEI Business Development Officer. Check HERE for more information on the Small Business Investment Grant.


Employers: Wage Subsidies for Summer Students 

Deadline April 4, 2025

PEI employers – public sector, not-for-profits and private sector – may qualify for the employee wage subsidy offered through two separate student employment programs:

Jobs for Youth Program supports students aged 15-29 working 8-12 weeks during summer; students must be returning to school in the Fall.

Post-Secondary Student Program supports full-time BI working 12 to 18 weeks during the summer. Application deadline is B. Find more information HERE.


Local Festivals Funding

Building Communities Through Arts & Heritage – Up to $200,000. Supports recurring local festivals that showcase Canadian artists, artisans, heritage performers, and cultural traditions. Click here to learn more.
